Jurong Lake Gardens is Singapore's third national garden and the first in the heartlands. This 90-hectare green oasis, thoughtfully designed to unite families and communities, comprises Lakeside Garden, Chinese and Japanese Gardens, and the Garden Promenade.

Our Gardens

Lakeside Garden

Lakeside Garden is the 60-hectare western section of Jurong Lake Gardens, centred around nature, play and community. Developed sensitively to retain the area's serenity while adding community and recreational spaces, it makes the most of its waterfront setting to offer visitors close encounters with nature amid greenery and lakeside views. In line with Jurong Lake District's car-lite strategy, visitors are encouraged to walk, cycle or take public transport to the Gardens.

Chinese Garden

Chinese Garden is where old meets new — familiar cultural landmarks that hold special memories sit alongside new attractions and diverse greenery. Highlights include the Bamboo Grove & Waterfall, a multi-sensory walk through an enchanting bamboo grove; the Edible Garden, showcasing urban gardening in bloom; the Stoneboat, offering romantic lakeside views; and the Twin Pagoda, Chinese-inspired towers with lake views and spiral staircases.

Japanese Garden

Explore the rejuvenated Japanese GardJapanese Garden interweaves greenery with waterscapes, blending the colours and textures of tropical flora with elements of Japanese garden design. Mature trees, including Cycads planted by Japanese Emperor Akihito and Empress Michiko in 1970, form part of the landscape, while new bridges improve connectivity within the Gardens and to the wider district. Highlights include the Water Lily Garden, home to Singapore's largest water lily collection; the Cenote, with vertical epiphyte walls around a cave-inspired water feature; and the Breathing Gallery, blending terrariums, paludariums and aquariums.en, where tropical greenery meets waterscapes and Japanese design elements. Jurong Lake District

Jurong Lake Gardens sits within the larger Jurong Lake District — a vibrant, car-lite commercial district envisioned as a "district of gardens and water," with green spaces and waterways extending from the Gardens into the surrounding precincts of Jurong Gateway and Lakeside.

Sustainability

Jurong Lake Gardens aspires to be a showcase of sustainability — from Super Low Energy buildings and water-sensitive urban design, to the use of carbon dioxide mineralised concrete across its footpaths.

Smart Technology

Technology plays a key role in how the Gardens are run and experienced — from an Integrated Management System and Mass Engineered Timber construction, to Interactive Kiosks that help visitors find their way and plan their visit.
