Mark your calendars - the 2026 edition of ArtsEverywhere@JLG: heART will be happening on 13 and 14 June, in conjunction with National Family Festival and Gardeners' Day Out!
ArtsEverywhere@JLG: heART is a family-friendly carnival intertwining arts and nature, to bring you a marketplace, workshops, and other activities that nurture physical, mental, and emotional well-being.
We invite you to explore your relationship with art and personal well-being, while cultivating inner peace and mindfulness through creative expression and wellness activities amidst the serene beauty of Jurong Lake Gardens.
All programmes are held under shelter and are rain-or-shine.

Gardener's Day Out Marketplace

Get your hands dirty and let your imagination run wild! In this relaxed, hands-on workshop, you'll explore the wonderful world of air-dry clay — pinching, coiling, flattening, and moulding your way to a creation that's entirely your own.
Whether you'd like to craft a charm, a figurine, or a little object of your own design, our friendly facilitators are here to guide and inspire you every step of the way.
Shrink Art by National Family Festival
Date and Time: 13 and 14 June, 9am to 6pm
Unleash your inner artist and create something truly one of a kind! Pick your design, colour it in, and watch the magic happen as your artwork shrinks into a beautiful, pocket-sized keepsake. It's fun, it's creative, and it's all yours to take home.
Bouncy Castles by National Family Festival

Get ready for a whole lot of fun! Jump in, bounce around, and enjoy every moment — because the fun doesn't stop here. We hope you leave with a big smile on your face and memories to last a lifetime!
Please note that NParks will not be liable for any injuries or accidents that may occur at the bouncy castle. We kindly ask all parents and guardians to supervise their children at all times and ensure they play safely. Let's keep the fun going for everyone!

The Caged Parrot– A Nature Folktale Come to Life by Act 3 International
Date and Time: 13 June, 9am - 10am
Suitable Age: 4 to 8 years old
Capacity: 20 parent-child pairs per workshop

A merchant keeps a wild parrot in a beautiful cage, believing comfort
and care are enough to make her happy. But when she asks him to carry a
message to her family deep in the forest, his journey through the wild
reveals a deeper truth — that what she truly longs for is the freedom to
live as herself.
This immersive outdoor performance blends storytelling, movement, song, colourful costumes, and character play in the lush surroundings of the Gardens. Inspired by a tale of a wild parrot and her longing for freedom, the performance invites families to reflect on belonging and the joy of living close to nature.

Mini Bonsai "Prune and Shape" by Crafted Identity
Date and Time: 13 June, 11am - 12pm
Suitable Age: 12 years old & above
Capacity: 10 participants per workshop
Participants will work on a pre-bonsai plant approximately 15cm tall and learn how simple pruning and shaping techniques can transform a young plant into a miniature tree full of movement and character.
In this beginner-friendly session, participants will:
• Learn basic bonsai pruning and shaping techniques
• Explore different bonsai styles and forms
• Understand simple bonsai care and maintenance
• Experience the calming and mindful nature of bonsai crafting
Each participant will bring home their own shaped mini bonsai creation.

Introduction to Wabikusa Terrarium by Crafted Identity
Date and Time: 13 June, 1pm - 2pm
Suitable Age: 12 years old & above
Capacity: 10 participants per workshop
Participants will create a miniature living ecosystem inspired by the Japanese Wabikusa concept. This guided workshop introduces how water, moss, and plants work together to form a natural and serene composition. Handcrafted materials and guided assistance will be provided throughout the session. No experience is required.
In this beginner-friendly workshop, participants will:
• Build their own Wabikusa terrarium step-by-step
• Learn how water, moss, and plants create a living ecosystem
• Arrange a natural flowing composition inspired by nature
• Discover simple care techniques for the terrarium

Stitch, stuff, and let your imagination run wild! In this fun, hands-on workshop, you'll design and create your very own plushie using upcycled fabric and scrap materials — making something truly one of a kind while giving old materials a new lease of life.
Sketch out your idea, cut and assemble your fabrics, and add all the little details that make your plushie uniquely yours. Our facilitators are on hand to guide you every step of the way.

Collagraph Printing by PLAY!

Suitable Age: 3 years old and above
Capacity: 40 pax per workshop
Get hands-on with one of printmaking's most tactile and creative techniques! In this workshop, you'll build your very own printing plate by layering textured materials — string, lace, leaves, sandpaper, and more — onto a cardboard base. Once inked and pressed, your plate reveals a stunning composition of patterns and textures that is completely unique to you.
Along the way, you'll discover the history of collograph printing and its connections to Southeast Asian art and craft traditions. Best of all, you'll take home not just a set of beautiful prints, but your very own reusable plate to keep printing with long after the day is done.

There's something truly special about painting outdoors — the fresh air, the gentle sounds of nature, and the quiet focus that comes with putting brush to paper. In this 2.5-hour workshop designed for seniors, you'll be introduced to the basics of watercolour and guided through simple techniques before applying them to paint your very own garden scene.
Watercolour is a wonderfully portable and accessible medium, perfect for beginners and a lovely way to engage the senses and spark creativity. No prior experience is needed — just a curiosity to explore and a willingness to enjoy the process.

Playing with Negative Space by Rabak Atelier

Have you ever stopped to notice the shapes that exist not in an object itself, but in the space around it? This is the concept of negative space — and once you see it, you'll never look at the world quite the same way again!
In this 1.5-hour workshop for parent-and-child pairs, you'll be given a viewfinder — a small card with a rectangular window — and invited to explore the garden around you, discovering surprising shapes and compositions hiding in plain sight. Using what you find, you'll create your very own piece of art inspired by the world through your viewfinder.
Come ready to slow down, look closely, and see the garden with fresh eyes. All are welcome.

Discover the art of anthotype printmaking — a beautiful, eco-friendly craft that uses the natural pigments of plants like spinach, beetroot, and flowers to create delicate, one-of-a-kind prints. No chemicals, no waste — just nature doing its magic!
Brush your paper with plant extracts, arrange your objects, and let the sun do the rest. Over time, sunlight gently reveals a stunning organic image that is entirely your own. Along the way, you'll also learn about the history of this fascinating printmaking method and its roots in Southeast Asia.
